Samsung S10

Samsung wants to add in-display fingerprint scanner and 3D face recognition system in its upcoming flagship device Samsung S10, According to a South Korean publication ETnews. The reports also suggest that the flagship model will come in three different versions code-named “Beyond 0”, “Beyond 1”, and “Beyond 2,” all these variants offer different designs, Camera specs, and features.

“Since launching the first Galaxy S smartphone in 2010, Samsung Electronics has released a single model that has been upgraded every year. Since 2015, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have been changed to multi-model launches, and Galaxy S9 has maintained its strategy of launching two models at a time this year. But next year, [Samsung plans] to release three flagship models at once,” ETnews wrties.

The company is not bringing iris scan technology in this new model plus Samsung has not asked its suppliers to make iris scanner Whereas the company decided to bring 3D face recognition and an in-display fingerprint scanner which would easily unlock the phone. Currently, Samsung phone does support fingerprint scanner, but it is somehow difficult to grab the phone in your palm and then unlock it as the phone size continued to grow over the past few years.

Moving On, iPhone introduces 3D recognition last year on its new Model X, on the other hand, Samsung brings Animoji with AR Emoji in Galaxy S9. Later Apple followed this trend and announced a Memoji feature which is coming in iOS 12 this fall. Samsung wants to give competition in the market that’s why it has collaborated with Mantis Vision to develop an algorithm for 3D face recognition.
