Samsung’s connected watch is changing its name, from the last four years it was known as Gear. It’s a fact that there will be no Samsung Gear S4. Samsung the cell phone giant has decided to rename its series of watches.
According to Sammobile website, they indicated about the rumors as Samsung Gear S4 will be called Galaxy Watch and it will launch alongside the Galaxy Note9. They have leaked information about its next model as well. Also with the new name has been in talks, little information has filtered about its characteristics.
The smartwatch will ship a new version of Tizen OS 4.0. Information that goes against the voices that announced as a return to Wear OS (an evolution of Android Wear) which is new voice control feature APIs and will also allegedly run on the device with the company’s Bixby smart assistant, the latter will get benefit from assistant Bixby. The operating system for Gear watches has been Tizen from 2015 but now it will run the latest version of it.
It must be said that the operating system was formalized a little over a year ago. But now the firm is waiting for the release of its smartwatch to unveil exclusive features. The OS also seems much more focused on an ecosystem linked to the Internet for the usage. Instead of Android Wear Samsung will reportedly bundle it with some impressive apps for training.
The official announcement of its release will take place in New York on August 9th. The company has not responded on the news circulating about Tizen 4.0 will offer on its smartwatches yet. Some rumors also indicate that the Galaxy Watch could come out on August 24th. Besides, it will not be necessary to wait too long to be updated.
