HTC announced a lite version of HTC U12 Plus flagship today, U12 plus is a mid-range phone and a successor of U11 Life from last year. Also, this year HTC planned to bring a 6-inch FHD+(2160 x 1080) display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and 1500:1 contrast ratio. While most of the Smartphone makers are trying to manufacture notch-less phones, HTC did not consider to bring the idea this time too in U12 plus.
On the other hand, the company shrinks the bezels at the bottom and top of the display. One thing which makes it different from the other models that HTC brings back the two-tone design which will available in two color option twilight purple and moonlight blue. They used a dual finish which means that the rear bottom section has a less slippery plastic feel while the upper section consists of a mirrored and shiny aesthetics.
Now, let’s talk about its processors, the phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. It supports dual SIM and can use one of the SIM slots to add a microSD card. HTC U12 plus has a dual camera set up at the rear side, it features a 16-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel but the front-facing camera is only of a single 13-megapixel sensor.
Both the front and back cameras have f/2.0 aperture lenses plus the company has also added a LED flash and HDR support to the front cam for improved selfies in low light conditions. Furthermore, HTC revived stereo speakers and a headphone jack which is quite amazing except for one drawback which is U12 life will come with Android 8.1 and not with latest Android 9 Pie.
The price of U12 life is less than half of the u12 plus, it is available in Europe from September and users will able to buy it for £299 (349 euros).
