Today, the company has announced that Youtube channel is now going to expand Non-skippable adds. All the creators who have been monetizing content/ Video blogs on Youtube can hereby turn on all skippable-ads on all the videos. The update is rolling out next week all the eligible creators will receive a notification on their dashboard.
In that video announcement, Youtube explains that usually, advertisers pay more money for non-skippable advertisements. It means that the creators who run these ads will earn more money this could also make creators remain stick to the platform and with each ad sale money the Google-owned company a cut. Earlier this year, Youtube sets a maximum timing for video length which is 15-20 seconds, it all depends upon the location of the viewer.
It seems like the company is pushing the skippable advertisements due to the preferred ad format over TrueView, those ads which viewers can skip after 5 seconds. Former video content which has TrueView ads enabled will soon be shifted to non-skippable ads by default. It also means that Youtube creators have the authority as if they want their users to skip ads on the video archives. For that, they need to take action and change the default or video ads setting in default.
Creators can track non-skippable ad performance through Youtube channel analytics in order to determine whether the ad is best for monetizing or not. A youtube spokesperson told the Mashable that creators have control which type of ads should play on a video, they can too block specific kind of ads or the entire advertisement category in the light of rules policy. Til then, we have to to see viewers response over this policy because majority people have a habit of skipping ads, they don’t prefer to see them.
