Apple today has unveiled its three new giants flagships, iPhone XS, XS MAX and iPhone XR in an event at Steve Jobs theatre, cupertino, California.

The two model XS & XS Max looks quite identical to their predecessors, the iPhone X but definitely there are some major upgrades; upto 512 GB storage and availability of Gold color for both models, bigger screen size upto 6.5 inches in XS Max.

In addition to these two iPhone models, Apple has also introduced a lower price model, iPhone XR with almost same features with a screen size of 6.1 inches to fit between the both model screen size.

iPhone XS and XS Max:

Apple’s latest flagship has almost same features in both model except the difference in screen size, iPhone XS has 5.8 inches while XS Max has 6.5 inches screen size. Display of both model has dynamically improved and wider stereo speaker are now added create immersive sound experience in landscape mode.

Face detection speed in Face ID and Water resistance has also been improved on both models. Processors have also been given a boost using Apple’s new A 12 Bionic processors which is a six-core chip that’s among the first in the industry to use a 7nm process.

“iPhone XS is by far the most advanced iPhone we have ever created.” Tim Cook, at the keynote

Big news this year from Apple is definitely the introduction of iPhone XS Max model with 6.5 inches display which is even bigger than that of its rival Samsung Galaxy Note 9which stands at 6.4 inches but the fact is XS Max does not feel bigger in hands due to minimum body to display ratio and wider screen that cover the front of phone.

Apple say that these two model have all new camera system but according to specs, it doesn’t seems to have changed. Dual Camera on the back is still 12-megapixel but wide angle camera has now improved sensors with larger pixels and telephoto with wide aperture to perform better in low light while selfie camera on the front has improved in speed but has not changed in terms of aperture and megapixels.

The few upgrades to these cameras includes the introduction of “Smart HDR” which sounds quite similar to what Google does with the Pixel smartphone i.e taking multiple photos and combining the images into one single image. The other upgrade to these camera is the introduction of portrait mode which automatically blurs the background of subject by isolating it and the fine tune function which helps to adjust level of blur after taking photos.

Other noticeable features includes Dual sim functionality in both phones which includes one physical SIM and Apple’s integrated eSIM which carrier need to add support for it to work, improved battery life in comparison to iPhone 8 and the introduction of all time highest storage capacity of 512GB in these two models.

iPhone XS 64GB will sell for $999, the same as the iPhone X, and the 64GB XS Max will sell for $1,099. Preorders will start Friday, with the phones shipping out from September 21st.

iPhone XR:

iPhone XR is lower price model that has some of features same as that of other two models but its screen size is bigger at 6.1 inches, bigger than that of XS and features “Liquid Retina” display with True Tone technology.

iPhone XR might look bigger than that of XS but there are many compromises in this model, the aluminium frame, no stainless steel, the screen is LCD not OLED. Also there is no 3D touch in this model and instead Apple is offering a new Haptic touch system.

The camera in this model is not dual, single camera on the back with 12 megapixel same as iPhone 8 but with wide angle aperture available. Front camera although has got an upgrade, 7-megapixels with true depth system same as that of XS that allows faster unlock for Face ID as well as features like portrait mode selfies, Animoji, and Memoji.

The iPhone XR price starts at $749 for a 64GB model, with 128GB and 256GB models also available with various colors options like black, white, blue, coral, yellow, and red options available for the widest selection of chromatic choice. Preorders will start on October 19th for the XR and ship a week later on October 26th.
