Huawei launched Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro yesterday, along with the new flagships they introduce an interesting thing which is the new addition in Huawei’s family. A type of expandable storage the company is calling it a Nano Memory card (NM). It replaces the traditional microSD cards from its latest handsets Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro.
The company said that the Nano memory card is same in size and shape to Nano SIM card Whereas it is 45 percent smaller than the microSD card. It will have at least a 256GB storage and 90MB/s transfer speed rate that the company showcased at the event. On Mate 20 and Mate 20 pro devices the NM card goes right in one of the slots on the dual-SIM tray. Users have to select extra storage or a second SIM card.
Price and availability of NM cards are still unknown, one thing to be mentioned here Only Huawei’s new devices have the support for the NM cards. Also, Huawei is the only manufacturer of Nano-Memory cards, it might b possible that this technology would be adopted by other smartphone manufacturers as well in Future.
Yesterday, the company also announced wireless charging just like in the iPhone, the company claims to bring not only wireless charging but there is also reverse wireless charging. You just have to enable the option on your Mate 20 Pro and in no time the device pressed against another which supports Qi wireless charging and automatically starts transmitting power.
And for the first time, we will witness the smallest notches in Huawei’s handsets which only accommodates selfie camera with an earpiece positioned at the edge of the phone. Huawei Mate 20 has only a 2.6mm side bezel with the smallest screen Notch just 8.9mm in width and the most efficient display screen 820 nits of brightness.
