Netflix is currently working on a new feature that only works for Netflix’s original series and films called Netflix instant replay and it is not yet clear if this feature is going to be available for all content.
So, what’s new in Netflix Instant replay: It is a rewind-like function which enables users to replay a specific scene more easily. Now you don’t need to go around roaming with Netflix’s standard time bar at the bottom of the screen. Instead, Netflix shows a pop-up notification and asks you if you want to replay a scene that just concluded.
However, the reactions of the users to this app have not been very positive. for instance, a Reddit user said: He said: “I hope this isn’t a permanent thing because it’s distracting and obnoxious, if I want to see something again, I’ll rewind it myself … I don’t need a prompt.”
Then there was another user (who doesn’t seem to be really appreciative of the feature), who wasn’t pleased either. he said: “Really messed up my immersion, So far it’s happened right after two intense scenes. Really took me out of the moment.” Well, the future of the feature is yet to be known as a spokesperson of the Netflix was quoted by the Los Angeles times as :
“We’re trying out a feature which gives Netflix members the ability to rewatch favorite scenes and memorable moments with the click of a button. Right now we’re just looking to learn from it and may or may not roll it out more broadly in the future.”
