HP is bringing Chromebook 14 with AMD processors and it is going to be World’s first Chromebook come with these processors. Previously, Intel and ARM have been the only two choices for a processor on a Chromebook since Chrome OS first launched. HP first Chromebook with AMD processors will debut at CES 2019, while the Chromebook either on AMD A4 or A6 processor with integrated Radeon R4 or R5 graphics.
The Chromebook 14 will available at the end of this month for $269, AMD A4 line is equal to the to Intel’s Celeron line, that means these are lower-end processors designed especially for simple, power-efficient machines. HP claims that the Chromebook will give you nine hours of battery life, it has a 14-inch screen with a resolution above 720p, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage.
It has a USB-C port present on both the left and right side, and the HP Chromebook 14 can charge from either USB-C port. It looks like AMD is getting into the games of Chromebooks with AMD processors.
Moreover, the Chromebook laptops which runs on Google’s web-based Chrome OS are growing in the market as AMD processors give more functionality than Intel chips. Its HP first Chromebook to have AMD processors it also comes with the support of Google Play Store. Too, a built-in microSD card slot that gives you enough space for storage.
The HP Chromebook 14 AMD models will be a merge with a more premium two-in-one Chromebook for enterprise use, the x360 14 G1, It also comes with a Chrome Enterprise license. One thing to be mentioned here, according to the report of Chrome unboxed, HP is not alone to launch Chromebooks with AMD processors there might be other companies too. It indicates three in-development Chromebooks with AMD processors back in August. So HP is not the one to bring these devices in the market.
