A week before the Katowice Fortnite IEM that will bring together the 100 best players in the world, Epic Games has announced the Fortnite World Cup, the world cup that everyone has been waiting for a long time. In addition to the running of the competition, Epic announced that $ 100 million will be used in 2019 for the competitive cashprize.
The Fortnite World Cup will begin with ten weekly open qualifying tournaments from April 13, 2019 to June 16, 2019. Each week, $ 1,000,000 will be put into play.
On July 26-28, 2019 top 100 solo players and the top 50 duo teams from all around the world will participate in the Fortnite World Cup World Finals in New York, with a cash prize of $ 30 million. Each player will leave with at least $ 50,000, while the solo champion will receive $ 3 million.
With such a cash flow, Epic Games will break the earlier record of the largest cash prize held by Valve with The International on DOTA 2 with its $ 25.5 million in cash.
For players not playing in Royal Battle mode, Epic also organizes other events similar with the Fortnite World Cup final as particular challenges using different modes and formats to entertain everybody.
Also, to the Fortnite World Cup and the cash prizes for the 2019 tournaments, Epic also announced its competitive program that includes not only the Royal Battle, with regular $ 1,000,000 tournaments.
To participate, it’s simple. Person must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you will need parental authorization.
You must also have a good status on each of your registered Epic accounts, without any violation of the rules. If you received a penalty after breaking the rules, you must have fully served your sentence.
