Samsung finally released its much-awaited phone of the year which is Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10 plus and the lite variant Galaxy S10E model. All the three models are available for preorder starting today on 21st February. The phone will start shipping on March 8th and the price of the phone starting at $899.99 for the S10 and $999.99 for the S10 Plus.
Giving you a brief look at the phone, the company has been working on a bezel-less screen over many years. The S10 and S10 Plus’ design has 6.1-inch and 6.4-inch screens along with a nary bezel around them. Both of the models have larger displays than the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 plus. The displays of both the models are identical which is 1440-pixel wide 19:9 OLED panels with Samsung’s “Dynamic AMOLED” branding and HDR10+ certification.
Both the models have curved sides packed with an aluminum frame which makes it easier to hold. The screens are bright, vibrant and colorful, these are the best displays produced by the company so far. Furthermore, Galaxy S10 has two special features, first is the hole punch cut out for the front camera. It allows Samsung to avoid a notch-style design and still carrying a front-facing shooter.
The S10 has a wider punch for the two cameras on the front, the other feature is the ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that’s embedded below the screen. It replaces the traditional capacitive scanner you had witnessed on S9 model. Moreover, the company claims that this scanner is more advanced, more reliable, and giver you better performance than the optical-based scanners used in the OnePlus 6T and other phones.
Talking about the quality of the phone then you will glad to know it is the most premium phone that ever releases, it gives a good feeling when you hold it in hand. The S10 Plus will be available with a ceramic back option, upping its aesthetic and tactile qualities. Coming to the optics side, both S10 and S10 plus models have a three-lens array that provides wide, super wide, and telephoto framing options at the touch of a button.
The wide telephoto camera is the same that was present on S9 plus along with 12-megapixel sensors and optically stabilized lenses. The telephoto lens has an f/2.4 aperture and its wide camera allows the aperture switching between f/1.5 and f/2.4. While the new ultra-wide camera offers a 123-degree field of view through an f/2.2 lens and has a 16-megapixel sensor. There is one disadvantage in Galaxy S10 camera system that it is a fixed-focus lens which lacks autofocus.
Also, there are new plenty of camera features coming like an expanded set of “Scene Optimizer” which is able to identify 30 different scenes and optimize the camera’s settings for them automatically. The other is a new “Shot Suggestion” feature that can help fix poorly framed photos. For recording video, the S10 camera supports 4K UHD recording on both the front and rear cameras, and it can record in HDR10+. You will also get a “super steady video” mode for smoother footage. In terms of recording, iPhone remains on the top but we will see how Samsung cameras work in this recent model.
The front camera features upgraded 10 megapixels with an f/1.9 aperture lens and dual-pixel autofocus. Whereas the S10 plus has an 8-megapixel front camera which it uses for improved depth sensing and portrait modes. The S10 and S10 plus are running on Snapdragon 855 processor but in the US and some other regions it will operate on Samsung Exynos processor, with 8GB and 12GB of RAM, and up to 1TB of storage in the S10 Plus.
Both variants have 128GB of storage but it can expand more via microSD card. The model features massive battery S10 with 3,400mAh cell and the S10 Plus with massive 4,100mAh battery. Both models support fast wired and wireless charging and they are capable to charge a second device, such as the new Galaxy Buds wireless headphones can charge second devices through their back panels.
Some other qualities S10 and S10 plus have that they also have IP68 water and dust resistance, 3.5mm headphone jacks, and support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5, and 2Gbps LTE.
