Donald Trump called on Thursday US companies to intensify the development of 5G and 6G technology in the country. Also, not to lose position against other countries that has made major advancement in the competition towards this goal.
“I want 5G technology and even 6G, in the United States as soon as possible, it is much more powerful, faster and smarter than the current system, US companies must step up their efforts or they will be left behind,” the United States President tweeted.
The president also said that he was not willing to block foreign companies from the US market to attain his goal.
“There is no reason for us to fall behind on something that is so obviously the future, I want the United States to win through competition, not blocking currently more advanced technologies, and we must always be leaders in everything we do, especially when it’s about the exciting world of technology!” he added.
Huawei’s rotating chairman Hu Houkun has responded on this statement.
Hu Houkun forwarded Trump’s tweet and wrote:
“Mr. President, I totally agree with you. Our company is ready to help the US build a true 5G network through competition.”
Reports have admired this and pointed out that, supporting Huawei will become part of the global 5G network including the United States in the near future.
“Huawei is one of the most competitive 5G companies and should not be banned for any political reasons.” “Let politics stay away from the technological world.”
CNBC TV reported that even if President Trump did not mention Huawei’s name, this Twitter post should be meant for Huawei. As, Huawei is currently leading the development of 5G networks, while the United States is engaged in intense trade negotiations with China.
Trump’s tweet seems to point to an unsigned administrative order that had been reported by the media before, which would prevent Huawei from being considered for “national security” considerations.
