Corsair has announced its latest keyboard the K83 Wireless which is entirely a newly designed keyboard. In addition to the laptop-style 76-key keyboard, the K83 includes a joystick, two shoulder buttons, and a trackpad that supports up to four-finger gestures in Windows 10. The placement of the joystick is quite unique as its inclusion on the keyboard will allow you to navigate menus.
The joystick can also be used to emulate a mouse, which is very useful when you are playing the game or to control the game’s camera. In this mode, the two shoulder buttons stand in for the mouse’s left and right buttons or you can also just click in the stick for a middle mouse click.
“An analog joystick makes easy work of menus and content browsing and plays games like a gamepad when combined with the familiar WASD keys. A precision multi-touch touchpad and dedicated right/left click buttons to make mouse cursor movement and click easy, with separate left and right click buttons also found on the keyboard’s shoulders,” says Corsair.
This is not the first time Corsair has made a keyboard which can be comfortably placed anywhere in your living room. Earlier, the company released the lapdog a $119.99 made of plastic which you can lay across your lap and strap an existing keyboard and mouse into. But there is one disadvantage that you have to buy a keyboard and mouse separately which gets quite costly.
On the other hand, in K83 Wireless keyboard you will get low-profile membrane scissor switches instead of mechanical switches. Moreover, the keyboard is backlit but each key has not its own RGB LED like on Corsair’s full-size keyboards. The company claims that keyboard battery will give you 40 hours of usage and you can recharge it by using a micro USB cable. The price of this device starting at $99.99 and also available for purchase.
