A year ago, a deal with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine was announced by Amazon-owned Audible. This deal was to develop exclusive audio productions for Audible Originals. The company’s entertainment are offering features whose audio contents are longer than podcasts, but shorter than audio books.
The announcement of the release of the first set of these Hello Sunshine original productions has been made. Many music performances are also arranged from music business matriarch Sophia Chang, judge Rosemarie Aquilina, and comedian/activist Maysoon Zayid.
The Audible Originals focus on highlighting female storytelling like Hello Sunshine’s other efforts. The brand’s other projects also joins across books, film, TV, podcasts, and streaming services like Apple TV+ and Hulu. Additionally, a showcase of audible audio books, selected by Reese’s Book Club, which similarly focuses on strong, but complex female characters was launched last year by the collaboration of Audible and Hello Sunshine.
“Baddest Bitch in the Room,” is the Audible Original written and performed by Chang. The audible has her telling the story of growing up as the daughter of Korean immigrants in the suburbs of Vancouver. later loving the hip-hop music, then start of her career in the music business, where the careers of major artists, including the Wu Tang Clan were influenced by her.
“Magnificent Things” were performed by Judge Aquilina where her unusual journey of becoming the judge who presided over the trial of USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar were explained by her. Moreover, “Limping on the Edge” is performed by Maysoon Zayid, she tells her story of being a Muslim comedian with cerebral palsy, and how she uses her platform for her activism.

At the time when the Hello Sunshine brand is on the rise, the launch comes at the same time, this is the result of its various high-profile projects, including HBO’s “Big Little Lies,” and coming video efforts like Hulu’s “Little Fires Everywhere,” and Apple TV+’s “Are You Sleeping” and “The Morning Show.”
The number of films are in the work by the company, “Legally Blonde 3” are one of those. “Where the Crawdads Sing,” and “Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine” are being developed from Reese’s Book Club picks.
Amazon will get a connection to the media company, which could help it in other areas of its business, due to the Hello Sunshine’s collaboration with Audible. These include Prime Video potentially, Amazon Books, and Amazon Video’s marketplace for film and TV, they benefits from sales of popular titles.
The debut starting of the new Audible Original programs is in late 2019 and early 2020 according to the company.
