We are almost less than a week away from the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote which is going to take place on coming Monday. At the event, Apple is expected to reveal new versions of all its operating system including iOS 13. But today 9to5Mac has shared exclusive screenshots of iOS 13 that shows some of its new features and apps.
The first thing it unveiled is the dark mode which can be enabled by going into the Settings app or with an option in Control Center, for quick access to the feature. After enabling the dark mode the only change you could notice is the dock which will adopt a vibrant dark background instead of the light one. It might be possible that Apple will include new wallpapers that go better with a dark theme and a new OS.
If we see the app inside the dark mode, it is quite evident that Apple is using a true dark background which looks good on the OLED screen. Perhaps the change affect battery life as an OLED display doesn’t have to use power to light up the black pixels. Another UI change that Apple would bring in iOS 13 is the interface which appears after taking a screenshot. Instead of showing a grey background with small markup tools at the bottom, it shows a blurred version of the user’s wallpaper with more life-like annotation tools to choose from.
The same kind of interface is designed for the iPad that utilizes a rounded tray at the bottom of the screen to hold the tools. On iPad, this tray can be dragged around the screen. The other things which are getting a redesign in the upcoming model are the reminders apps and the apps are also coming to macOS 10.15. On the iPads, the new Reminders app has a large sidebar with separate boxes for Today, Scheduled, Flagged and All.
It includes a search box plus a collection of user’s list of reminders. The app also uses the SF UI Rounded font introduced to iOS with Wallet on iOS 12.2. On the other hand, Apple is combining Find my Friends and Find my iPhone apps into a single “Find My” app. All of these updates and iOS 13 will likely to reveal at the event. The first developer beta would become available as early as possible, along with the public beta starting in the following weeks.
