realme X

Realme has announced Realme X which is the very first entry in the line of company’s flagship phones. By far it is the most powerful and specs packed device to be introduced by a newly emerging brand, yet the device maintains a very low cost. Realme is a company who originally spun out of Chinese giant smartphone manufacturers Oppo, mainly to target the Indian market.

In very less time, the company has made a name because of its rapid product release schedule and its equally expanding market share tables in emerging markets. Devices like Realme 3 has come up with impressive designs and good performance at a very low price. Another plus point for the company is that they have already become one of the most popular brands in India.

Talking about the X flagship phone which is not truly a high-end phone but still a competitive device. The device comes with a Snapdragon 710 processor, a 6.53-inch 19.5:9 1080p OLED screen with no notch, a 48-megapixel camera with Sony’s IMX586 sensor, a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor, a headphone jack, a 3,765mAh battery, and Oppo’s VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

The pop-up camera is located in the middle of the device’s top edge, the company claims to deliver more natural selfies plus the camera elevation takes 0.7 seconds. If you are worried about the reliability of cheap phones with pop-up cameras, realme says they have tested the mechanism for over 200,000 cycles and is protected by sapphire glass.

The price of the model ranges from 1,499 yuan (~$220) to 1,799 yuan (~$260). Realme X will available in all the three configurations 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, 6GB/64GB, and 8GB/128GB.

If we compare Realme and new OnePlus 7 pro both the devices have a lot more in common. Too, with this specs packed phone the deal of Google’s new $399-$479 Pixel 3A looks like a bad option to buy, in terms of specs and features X is providing. Even Oppo’s own Reno with a Snapdragon 710 looks expensive next to the Realme X.

The model will go on sale from May 20th and you can purchase it through Realme’s own site and various other Chinese online channels. However, it will come in Indian later.
