Wacom announced an updated Intuos Pro Small, It is a compact, wireless drawing tablet designed mainly for portability. Intuos Pro small is the latest version in Intuos pro line to get a redesign. The medium and large size was launched two years back along with slimmer bezels and an updated stylus. This means the entry price for 8,192-levels-of-pressure Intuos Pro drops to $250.
Even at this $250 price, the Intuos pro small is an affordable device than the $379 Medium and $499 Large tablets. The design is similar too. The only difference we can see is that it contains two fewer ExpressKeys than the Medium and Large sizes. Plus it does not offer the ability to swap out textured sheets, which allow artists to customize the tablet surface feel depending on the customer’s preference whether they like smooth or rough texture.
The surface texture it has feels great with just a little bit of resistance in order to make the canvas feels natural to draw on with the stylus. This new design is smaller than the previous models, but it offers a wide active area sized at 10.6 x 6.7-inches, with an active area of 6.3 x 3.9-inches. It connects wirelessly with MacBooks and PCs through Bluetooth, although you can also connect via USB-C when you need to charge the tablet.
Moreover, it comes with Pro pen 2 and it is compatible with pro pen 3D and pro pen slim, released earlier this year. The tablet is coupled with touch controls so you can pinch to zoom or use two fingers rotate the canvas. It won’t disappoint you because it got the same responsiveness as the touch controls on the iPad. Touch settings can be toggled on and off with a physical switch on the side of the tablet.
On the side of the tablet, Expresskeys can be customized with shortcuts, and touch ring can be used to do minor work like zoom and adjust brush sizes. As compared to the introductory Intuos tablets for beginners which would cost around $99 for the Small tablet with Bluetooth. Wacom Intuos Pro Small is aimed at professional artists and freelancers who want to take their tools on the go.
It provides all the basic features which an artist wants but in a portable and notebook size form.
