Again and Again, Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook is down again. Three of the biggest online services have stopped working properly. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are no longer loading content, including statuses, photos and videos. On the other hand many messages aren’t sending or receiving on WhatsApp. On wednesday, some users across the globe also reported problems logging in, sharing or they could not even access the Facebook-owned photo and video service on mobile apps and the web.
Some Instagram users reported that their feed might load, but they are not able to post anything new into it. An error message indicating that “Photo Can’t Be Posted” comes when users try to post anything on Instagram. Some users also reported that when they tried to post photos on Instagram, it only displayed the caption and not the image. On the other hand, other users reported an inability to access the service at all.
On 3 July, the strange issues with parent company Facebook as well as sibling companies WhatsApp and Instagram started at around 2pm UK time. According to the tracking website Down Detector, issues were particularly focused on the east coast of the US. Significant numbers of reports also came from Europe, South America and East Asia, so these were reported across the world. The access problems were acknowledged by Instagram in a tweet 12:15 p.m. ET, in which they apologized for the outage.
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images and videos on Instagram,” the tweet said. “We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #instagramdown.”
A Facebook spokesperson said that:
“We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
Last time, the outage lasted for many hours when all three of Facebook’s major services broke. These problems were said to be perhaps the biggest outage in the history of the internet, hitting millions of people when they occurred in March.
